Funmi's Favourites

The Definitive Talk Show Recaps
The Beginning
When the cameras rolled in April 2000 and a smiling Funmi Iyanda announced to Nigeria that a New Dawn had arrived, Talk Show in Nigeria was redefined. Eight years, a million smiles and nearly a 1000 shows later, Funmi is set to lift the game again, this time through a multimedia platform that is founded on the ‘Content that Connects’ principle that has come to define who Funmi is. Before that big bang however, Funmi is signing off the special series that New Dawn is by putting together a collection of special moments from New Dawn over the last eight years in a show tagged Funmi's Favourites
The Nigerian Showcase
In the thousands of hours of interviews of some of Nigeria’s best known personalities is the story of how a new Nigeria has evolved.
What were our top celebrities thinking about all those many years ago and how many of them got their dreams fulfilled?
What were the topical issues as entered a new millennium and how far off are those issues from the ones that confront us now?
How has Funmi herself evolved over the years as she uncovers the truth about our societal challenges such as our homophobia that has driven many over the edge while running away from who they are?
Bringing Back The Past In Style
The tapes from the past are not just put together for Funmi’s Favourites. Using her characteristic charm, Funmi talks through each segment and lets the audience know what to look out for. From the animated opening sequence to a new set, this recap sets a new precedent on Nigerian television in terms of good content never dies.
Taking The Show On The Road
The show will be on the various stations listed below and will run in family belt to ensure that Funmi taps into the consciousness of her core target: the 18 - 35 year olds who feel passionate about change and the importance of tackling our many challenges by leading from the front

The Queen Makes Her Mark State Of The Art Technology
The animated opening sequence was done in conjunction with Bog Standard, one of the world’s leading lights in Character animation, modeling, particles & dynamics. Done to world class standard, the sequence is a snippet of what’s coming in the new show where particular attention will be paid to interactive projects ranging from early TV/Web convergence to the latest in web 2.0 technology and innovation.
Bog Standard was involved in the creation of logo and title sequence for hits such as Fear Factor and Fame Academy
Audience Interaction
The issues raised in Funmi’s Favourites are topical and need to be given expression beyond television so we have built in an audience interaction platform modeled after the modern social networking culture of SMS and web interactivity
Social Reengineering
Funmi’s Favourites is compiled especially to continue to tuck at our conscience about the ills of our society and the need to fix them so we can achieve great things. Funmi uses her cult personality among her target audience to champion the cause of the ordinary people to great effect.
